If your looking for a campsite with all the highend bells and whistles this is not a site for you. Ashby del a zouch is 1.5miles away and is worth a visit for independant shops and amazing restaurants. I challenge you not to go home with a car full of the goodies! The farm is surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes and walks,is within easy reach of tourist attractions that will keep the whole family busy. If the farm shop is open treat yourself to a breakfast.Oh and I urge you to buy the sausages and pies freshly made on the farm. If you want to learn about the production of Alpaca scarfs, gloves, etc just ask Andrew, Janice and he have made important connections in Peru to ensure the finest and fairest trade in Alapaca goods are on offer in the lovely little shop on site. Another delight were the bison.wow! Andrew and Janice who own the farm work tirelesly but they make time for the people visiting they are a delightful warm couple with boundless energy. What a brilliant education not only for the children but for us also. Also walking the Shetland ponies Barry and Dominic out of the farm yard up the lane to their field. The morning feeding was heartwarming, Simon was an excellent tutor, the grandchildren got to feed alpacas, cows, sheep, baby bison, pigs, collect chicken hens turning Max and Storm the 2 magnificent shires out along with the 2 fat donkeys. Whilst pitching up much to the delight to the grandchildren they discovered the play area behind the caravan and were off playing happily, the giggling and squeels of delight continued from that moment to the moment we left. Just come back from this lovely working farm, we took our touring caravan along with the grandchildren aged 9&5.From the moment we arrived to leaving we were made to feel very welcome and part of the farm /family.We were met by Simon who showed us our pitch and a look round, he invited us to join him in helping with the morning breakfast round feeding all the animals, for which we said ok.…(didn't know at the time what we were letting ourselves in for ) "So Glad We Did".
